Travel Insusurance is highly recommended

There are hundreds of circumstances that could cause you to cancel your trip, return home early or force you to seek emergency medical treatment while traveling. Travel insurance is highly recommended but not required.

  • What are the chances you’ll need it?
  • How willing are you to take risks?
  • How much is peace of mind worth to you?

Take these considerations into account, understand your options, and make an informed decision for your trip. There’s really no better way to protect your vacation investment than by purchasing travel insurance. We highly advise ALL travelers to consider purchasing travel insurance!

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I Need a Passport?

U.S. citizens are generally required to present a valid U.S. passport when traveling to Jamaica, as well as proof of anticipated departure from Jamaica. If you are traveling to Jamaica on a cruise, you may use another Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI) compliant document.

However, we strongly recommend you obtain a passport before travel in case an emergency requires you to disembark and return by air. You do not need a visa for tourist travel up to 90 days. All other travelers will need a visa and/or work permit.

What are the COVID-18 protocols?

These are the current protocols for entry however we encourage all guest to review entry requirements by visiting https://www.visitjamaica.com/

All residents of the United States of America (USA), Brazil, Dominican Republic or Mexico who are 12 years of age or over, are required to obtain and upload a COVID-19 PCR test result for travel authorization approval.
Tests must be done by a medical laboratory that has College of American Pathologists (CAP) accreditation, a Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) registration, or ISO 15189 certification.
The date of the sample collection must be less than 10 days from the travel date to Jamaica. Example: For a travel date of August 20, the earliest the test sample may be collected is August 11. Use the Test Date Calculator.
Samples collected using home test kits (ex. Pixel by LabCorp), along with antibody and antigen tests will not be accepted.
Applications will be accepted up to 5 days, but NO LESS than 2 days before the date of intended travel to Jamaica

Are excursions included?

Excursions are not included in your package however the resort offers non-motorized excursions at no cost. We will also recommend excursions that you can prepay in advance of your departure.

Are vaccines required for entry?

Review the recommended vaccines for entry by visiting: https://www.passporthealthusa.com/destination-advice/jamaica/

What currency is accepted in Jamaica?

The official currency in Jamaica in the Jamaican Dollar. All Inclusive resorts and key tourist areas also use US Dollars. Credit and debit cards are accepted in major tourist areas, and you can withdraw Jamaican Dollars from ATMs.

Most All Inclusive resorts will take the US dollar, but it’s best to decide what currency to take before you travel, depending on whether you’re staying in a touristy area or somewhere more remote.

Something to keep in mind is that US dollars in note form are accepted but the coins are not. Also, if you’re in a non-touristy area and they accept American dollars be prepared that the change you get back will be in Jamaican money.

Should I tip staff?

We recommended that you tip housekeeping $4-5 per day, the butler $5 or $10 (if you have butler suite), $2-3 for servers at b-fast and lunch, $5 for dinner, $2 for each service on the beach, $5 for room service.
